1. Overview

GarageMan (“we”, “us”, or “our”) provides an on-demand car repair and roadside rescue mobile application and related website (the “Service”). This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, with whom we share it, and the choices you have.

This policy applies to the GarageMan Android and iOS apps (including package com.garageman.mobile on Google Play), our marketing website at https://garageman.app, and related support channels.

2. Information we collect

Depending on how you use the Service, we may collect the following categories of information:

• Account & profile: name, email address, phone number, password (stored hashed), profile photo you choose to upload, and account role (for example customer or staff).
• Service requests: problem descriptions, vehicle details you provide, preferred service type (roadside rescue, car pickup, or garage visit), estimates, job status history, and related notes.
• Location: approximate and precise location when you grant permission, used to fill pickup or roadside addresses and to show request location on maps. We request location while the app is in use (foreground), not continuous background tracking.
• Photos & media: images (and, where supported, other media) you attach to a request or set as a profile picture, for diagnosis and account personalization.
• Messages: content you send through in-request chat with GarageMan Experts or partner garages.
• Device & technical data: app version, device type, operating system, IP address, and authentication tokens needed to keep you signed in securely on your device.
• Support communications: emails or messages you send to our support or privacy contacts.

3. Device permissions

The mobile app may ask for the following permissions. You can deny or later revoke them in your device settings; some features will not work without them:

• Location (when in use): to auto-fill your pickup or roadside address and place the request on a map.
• Photo library / media: to attach diagnostic photos to a request or choose a profile picture.
• Network access: to communicate with our servers over HTTPS.

4. How we use information

We use personal information to:

• Create and manage your account and authenticate you.
• Match you with GarageMan Experts and partner garages, fulfill roadside, pickup, and garage-visit requests, and provide status updates.
• Display maps and location context for your active jobs.
• Enable in-request chat and estimate workflows.
• Respond to support, privacy, and account-deletion requests.
• Maintain security, prevent fraud or abuse, and improve product reliability.
• Send service-related messages (for example account or job emails). Marketing messages, if any, are optional where required by law.
• Comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms of Service.

5. How we share information

We do not sell your personal information. We share information only as needed to operate the Service:

• Assigned experts and partner garages: request details, location for the job, media you attached, and chat messages needed to perform the work.
• Service providers: hosting, storage, email delivery, maps, and similar infrastructure processors who act on our instructions under contractual safeguards.
• Legal & safety: when required by law, legal process, or to protect the rights, safety, or property of users, partners, or Garage Man.
• Business transfers: if we are involved in a merger, acquisition, or asset sale, information may transfer subject to this policy or equivalent protections.

6. Retention

We retain account, request, chat, and media records for as long as needed to provide the Service, resolve disputes, enforce agreements, and meet legal, tax, or accounting requirements. When you request account deletion, we delete or anonymize personal data associated with your account within a reasonable period, except where we must retain limited records (for example completed transaction history required by law, or data needed for ongoing disputes).

7. Security

We use industry-standard measures appropriate to the sensitivity of the data, including HTTPS encryption in transit and hashed password storage. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure; please use a strong unique password and notify us promptly of any suspected unauthorized access.

8. Children’s privacy

GarageMan is intended for adults who can enter a binding agreement and operate or arrange service for a motor vehicle. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your jurisdiction). If you believe a child has provided us personal data, contact privacy@garageman.app and we will take appropriate steps to delete it.

9. Your rights and choices

Subject to applicable law, you may:

• Access or update profile details in the app (name, phone, photo).
• Control location and photo permissions in your device settings.
• Request a copy of personal data we hold about you.
• Request correction of inaccurate data.
• Request deletion of your account and associated personal data — see our Account deletion page or email us as described below.
• Object to or restrict certain processing where the law provides that right.

10. Account and data deletion

To request deletion of your GarageMan account and associated personal data, follow the steps on https://garageman.app/account-deletion, or email support@garageman.app from the address linked to your account with the subject “Account deletion request”. We aim to confirm and complete eligible deletion requests within 1–2 business days, and generally within 30 days.

11. International processing

We operate primarily from Doha, Qatar. Your information may be processed in countries where we or our service providers operate. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards for cross-border transfers.

12. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top of this page will change when we do. Material changes will be posted on this page; continued use of the Service after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised policy where permitted by law.
